Baltimore National Heritage Area Accepted Into National Park Service African American Civil Rights Network

As part of the June cohort, Baltimore National Heritage Area is the first Heritage Area to be accepted into the African American Civil Rights Network, a program of the National Park Service and Association of African American Museums. Each of the newly inducted properties, facilities, and programs significantly enriches the overall understanding of the significance of the African American Civil Rights Movement within the broader history of the United States. Through preservation, commemoration, interpretation, and education, these resources provide a comprehensive overview of the people, places, and events associated with the African American Civil Rights Movement.
