Southern Maryland Heritage Area and Piscataway Conoy Tribe Host Governor Moore at Mallows Bay-Potomac River National Marine Sanctuary

 

The Southern Maryland National Heritage Area revisited the launch of its National Heritage Area status on October 8, 2024, presenting the Governor with a framed seal and logo. The Piscataway Conoy Tribal Chairman gifted a special photo too - both headed straight for the Governor's office! Then, joined by Department of Natural Resources Secretary Josh Kurtz, we hit the water to explore the famous Ghost Fleet of Mallows Bay. Nothing like kayaking through history to remind us why we're passionate about preserving Southern Maryland's treasures. That's Gov. Moore in the lead kayak!
